I dont want to do it necessarily because my cell phone is also xfinity and i would have to pay more for it elsewhere because of the line discount xfinity mobile gives.) so i had to try xfinity, but i dotn have fiber conenction so if i went with att fiber they would have to put a new run which might work for a few years. (but i had att uverse before (not fiber), and the lines up above went back, and everytime they fixed one, it would work for a day and another fault would bring my uverse down. I just got tmobile home internet and it works for me as a backup between 25 Mbps and 115 Mbps so if my xfinity cannot be fixed without months of calling I will just look into att fiber. I dont think the modem reboots, but i think it steps down, because once its at 171.7Mbps only reboot seems to make it able to attain higher speed as tested at speedtest xfinity com This is an old neighborhood, house did not have comcast, so they eventually ran a new cable from pole in backyard to my house. Modulation is 256 QAM except 48 is OFDM and 48 is 722000000 37.4dB 0.5 dBmv, 48 does not follow others much. The downstream channel bonding values are all around SNR 41 db So I am wondering if I am being throttled or if modem is lowering connection speed. The strange thing is if I reboot the modem I get what I pay for (800Mbps), for half an hour or sometimes an hour then I start getting around 200Mbps.
